The Institute is actively engaged in several initiatives related to documentation and research of handicrafts, envisioning directions for tools, technology & infrastructure development, IPR protection, branding and quality certification projects as well as building of knowledge banks and information dissemination systems. CDI has been a pro-active leader in anchoring and mobilizing initiatives such as the registration of several regional handicrafts under the Geographical Indications Act.
The Institute’s professional consultancy services are available to individuals or organizations on a project basis. The consultancy wing of CDI outlines project proposals to indicate parameters, methodology and financial implications.

CDI WOOD CARVING WORKSHOP
Craft Developement Institute has organised this workshop towards a more more ‘learning centric’ rather than ‘teaching centric’ with an interactive and participatory approach focusing on individualistic requirements of the student. The workshop brings together core faculty of CDI, external resources and participants to observe best practices and inputs from different craft communities from South Africa and India.
ELIGIBILITY:
The competition is open to full-time students of 21 years and over currently attending an accredited institution of higher education in one of 40 selected countries. Read the official rules for more details.
